Six individual tuners, Two are mirrored end pieces with pointy ends. The middle four mount together by forming screw holes between adjacent tuners, into which the screw secures the two tuners.
These machine heads are made in Japan to a very high quality standard. They are similar to the much more expensive Kluson tuners typically found on Fender style guitars. They have slot ends where the string is simply slipped into the top of the post, instead of being threaded through a hole like most modern designs. They have a smooth, precise turning action and provide superb tuning stability. These machine heads have staggered posts that increase in height (e to E) to help maintain downwards force over the nut, the way string trees typically do.
