Details Seymour still remembers having his bandmates drive him to 8th Street Music in Philadelphia back in the 60s to buy his first Fender Mustang after seeing one played on TV. There's nothing like the sound of a Mustang with its short scale length, unique vibrato, and customized pickups. The Antiquity II Mustang pickups deliver a tone that is springy and almost bouncy like a Strat, but with a honkier midrange quality, and just the right amount of harmonic sparkle. The specially calibrated Alnico 5 rod magnets will add a nice, natural sustain to your instrument, and we use the same diameter & height pole pieces as the originals. Hand built in our Custom Shop, the Antiquity II for Mustang uses calibrated Alnico 5 rod magnets, vintage-correct light grey bottom flatwork, a custom coil wind with heavy formvar wire, cloth push-back lead wire, and each pickup is lacquered and wax potted.
